This is not new. This way of doing math is taught in Blessed are the quilters for they shall be called piecemakers shirt. I grew up in Poland and math is taught that way there. That is the way everyone knows! Conceal it yourself. That’s the way I already do this. Don’t think anyone taught me, it’s just always felt the most natural way to add in my head. I’m a math teacher and this is how we only do our calculations when a calculator is not necessary. We talk about the different strategies through, so everyone can make they’re own more effectively.
