Those of you who are of the grandparent age will remember the Mickey Mouse Disney and Dunkin’ Donuts kinda girl shirt and cataclysmic predictions of the 60s, 70s. And into the 80s that an ice age was coming, and that it would be bad. We wouldn’t be able to grow enough crops for the world’s population. Temperatures would keep falling and giant glaciers would start to cover the earth. The world’s population would be much diminished by the year 2000. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Within the decade of the 80s, some of the same Dunkin’ Donuts were warning us of exactly the opposite climatic calamity. Global Warming. And that the northern Polar ice cap would be melted by 2005! Well, that didn’t happen either. Now, predictions are extended out to the year 2100 and beyond since ensuring that all of us. But except for the very young, won’t be around to see that that doesn’t happen either. Now back to my point about using children and frightening them, which makes me very angry
