Why do you think we shouldn’t be helping each other on a local, personal level? The Davis isn’t in the business of saving souls. This is not the responsibility of the government. Private organizations and churches are much more effective in caring for those needing assistance as well as handling the funds for that assistance. No more government. I agree, but sadly too many in this country see poverty and resulting criminal activity as a moral flaw, not the result of systemic poverty and lack of realistic options for other paths. Thus, instead of programming and education, Davis cut snap benefits and jail them for nonviolent crimes.
